Starhome appoints new CEO

SWITZERLAND: Starhome, a leading provider of VAS solutions and services for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), announced the appointment of Tal Meirzon as its new CEO.

Tal spent more than 20 years at various telecom vendor companies. He held several positions during his 13-year tenure with Gilat Satellite Networks, including executive product, marketing and business development positions, where he was instrumental in the companywide strategic planning process.

For four years, starting in 2008, Tal was the CEO of Wavion Wireless Networks, which he grew from start-up to a leader in the carrier-grade Wi-Fi market, selling to 1st- tier carriers worldwide. Following Wavion’s acquisition by Alvarion in 2011, Tal was appointed to serve as the COO of Alvarion.

Yuval Cohen, chairman of the board of directors of Starhome and founder and managing partner of Fortissimo Capital, which acquired Starhome in October, 2012 said: “We are excited to have Tal on board. We have very ambitious plans for Starhome's growth and are certain that with the company’s management team we will be able to grow the company’s business substantially.

We would like to take this opportunity to also wish Starhome’s former CEO, Eitan Achlow, much success in his future endeavors. Eitan's contribution to the company's success in the last four years is highly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing our cooperation with him.”

Meirzon commented: “Starhome is a strong global leader in a complex and interesting market. I’m excited to join a devoted and professional team comprised of both management and the Fortissimo team, where we all recognize Starhome’s tremendous potential and future growth prospects. I plan to work hard to ensure its success.”
