PORTLAND, USA: Trusted Computing Group members have elected representatives from Dell and Nokia as contributor advisors to its board of directors for a one-year term. The Trusted Computing Group (TCG), a worldwide open industry standards organization, creates specifications based on the concept of a hardware root of trust for a variety of devices, applications and services.

Permanent TCG board members include representatives from Advanced Micro Devices, Fujitsu Ltd, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Infineon Technologies AG, Intel Corp., Lenovo Holdings Ltd, Microsoft and Wave Systems.

“The rapid proliferation of data breaches, attacks on enterprise and government networks and threats to the core infrastructure of the US and other countries demonstrates the increasingly urgent need for security solutions, such as those enabled by Trusted Computing Group industry standards,” said TCG chairman and president, Joerg Borchert, VP, Chip Card & Security ICs, Infineon Technologies North America. “With the contributions of companies such as Dell and Nokia and our existing board members, TCG can continue to offer its members and the industry the most effective and innovative approaches to trusted computing.”
