BT to manage FCC’s international networked IT services

MADRID, SPAIN: FCC, one of the world’s top services, infrastructures and renewable energy companies, has signed a 50 million Euros agreement with BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications services and solutions, for the delivery of global data network and fixed communications services for a period of five years.

This agreement covers more than 50 countries in four continents - from Egypt to France, from the UAE to Russia, from Peru to Singapore and the United States. It includes wide and local area networking services, fixed voice services, video conferencing and remote access for more than 12,000 users located in approximately 850 sites.

"The solution designed by BT will centralise all of our current data centres into only two centres in Spain, allowing us to consolidate our international communications network. By creating a robust technology platform, this supports the Citizen Services Group’s strategy of expanding activities internationally. Working together with BT will make it happen with greater efficiency and reliability, while gaining improvements in performance," says Antonio Gómez Ciria, GM, Administration and Information Technology of FCC.

"Thanks to the high level of commitment and the quality of services we have provided in recent years, FCC now recognises BT as one of its most important strategic partners. We are very proud of this achievement and to have successfully responded to the challenging and demanding needs of a multinational leader such as FCC," says Jacinto Cavestany, VP for Spain, Portugal and Latin America, BT.

Cavestany adds: "Our global presence and our award winning technologies are the assurance for FCC that they will enjoy from day-one a world class communications infrastructure that will accompany its expansion throughout the world for the foreseeable future."
