Earning certification shows that Andrew Goa’s environmental management system meets the requirements of ISO 14001, a global standard for environmental performance.

“Andrew is extremely delighted to receive ISO 14001 certification and it demonstrated our commitment for environmental protection,” said Antonio de Rego, managing director and director of site operations, Andrew Telecommunications India. “This is a milestone for the company and our employees at the Goa facility and can only be achieved as a result of the great teamwork and efforts put in by the team.”

In April 2009, Andrew Goa formed the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Council to oversee the work to get the facility in line with the ISO 14001 standard and ready for the external audit in March 2010. This year-long project involved a broad range of tasks that began with an initial EH&S review and gap analysis and included policy development and implementation, employee training, and internal audits.

CommScope has approximately 14 facilities worldwide that are currently certified to the ISO 14001 environmental standard and to remain certified, the facilities are subject to periodic audits.
