LAS VEGAS, USA: Huawei has showcased its E5 wireless modem and other innovative products at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). As of December 2009, shipments of the E5 wireless modem have exceeded 300,000 units and orders have been placed by 40 leading operators around the world.

The Huawei E5 is a center of personal connection device and the ideal mobile broadband solution for business people wanting high-speed wireless connectivity, anytime, anywhere, and offers a superior user experience. Simply by turning on the Wi-Fi switch, users can enjoy immediate access to a high-speed mobile broadband network, without needing to carry around a bulky Internet cable.

With the E5 users can automatically create group Internet access and individual Wi-Fi hotspots, wirelessly connecting to various devices, such as notebooks, digital cameras, and games consoles; play games online and transfer pictures. The E5 fits easily into the user’s pocket or handbag, offering Wi-Fi wireless connectivity at their fingertips, and even functions as a storage device equipped with a microSD card with a storage capacity of up to 32GB.

“The success of the E5 is a great example of the major strides that Huawei Device has made, expanding in key international markets and capturing considerable market momentum,” said Glory Cheung, Huawei Device spokesperson.

“Our consistent focus on innovative technologies and stylish form factors that enable operators to offer a differentiated suite of terminal products for consumers has made us a leader in the operator resale market, and is driving our continued success around the world. As a trusted partner for the world’s leading operators, we will continue to provide state-of-the-art network terminals capable of delivering high-speed and seamless connectivity.”

By focusing not only on providing innovative products for consumers, but also on creating revenue growth streams for operators, Huawei Device has enjoyed tremendous success in the North American market in 2009 and has achieved 45 percent of the global 3G data card market. Recent product launches include the E181 and E1691 data cards in the United States and the Android Phone Pulse in Europe with T-Mobile.

Huawei has dedicated substantial resources to innovation and research of key commercial LTE technologies that will enable Huawei to provide end-to-end LTE solutions for global operators and cement Huawei’s leading position in the commercial LTE terminal market.
