WiMAX growth in India fueled by outdoor CPEs from ICOMM and Beceem

INDIA, ITU World, GEENVA: Responding to the explosive potential for wireless broadband services in India, ICOMM Tele, a leading provider of telecom solutions for service providers in India, and Beceem Communications, a leading global provider of Mobile WiMAX chips, are announcing the commercial availability of their jointly developed portfolio of WiMAX modems for the India market.

The collaboration between ICOMM and Beceem is a move that highlights the growing strength of the device ecosystem in India. The ICOMM WiMAX portfolio is comprised of the ICOMM 700, an innovative outdoor Modem, the ICOMM 610, an integrated broadband router for the home, and the ICOMM 900 USB dongles.

The CPE products are specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the Indian market:

All ICOMM products are WiMAX Forum Wave 2 certified and the first generation of ICOMM's WiMAX products supports the 2.5GHz spectrum and is already being deployed inside BSNL's new Mobile WiMAX network in the Kerala circle.
